The first song is from I believe 1979 and is by Lakeside, a group on the SOLAR label. One of my favorite record labels, although their best stuff wouldn't take place until a couple years after this record. This is feel good disco: When's the party going down??? 9:00 until ???. Basically this is the audio version of every flyer I've done...
The next two songs are by Sylvia Robinson, the same Sylvia who did "Love is Strange" as Mickey & Sylvia 10 or 20 years prior to the release of this record. She's also the Sylvia Robinson who ran Sugarhill Records and released Rapper's Delight a year after this record. Anyway this record is a cover of Dee Dee Jackson's hit of the same name. It sounds pretty similar to the original except this one is a little more robotic and sounds even more like Donna Summer's "I Feel Love." The next song "Stop Boy" is pretty weird- Tell me what you think. Recording this 12 inch was so nice, it's nice and loud and in great shape. Records really make me loathe Serato sometimes...
Finally, we have the goofy song Spring Again by Biz Markie (hey, I'm thinking ahead)... Have fun.
I'm very excited for tonight: It's Christmas Eve & we're bringing in the holiday spirit at Huckleberry Bar (see attached flyer). I've got a portable hard drive full of hip-hop, classics, dance, and even a few holiday joints for you. Behind the bar they have both Spiked Eggnog & Mulled Wine FREE all night long (the bar closes at 2 AM tonight). I'm very proud and happy to be a part of the magic that goes down at Huckleberry, so come out tonight and let me show you how it's done.
I also will be at the excellent (and I'm picky with restaurants) East Village Italian restaurant Il Bagatto Friday night. Come dine while I DJ. I tried the baked chicken last week and it is tasty as all hell. They bake it under a brick and it's really moist with a lemony garlicky flavor. The gnocchi is pretty wild too. I get there at 7 PM, and although I'm posted up downstairs the music is piped throughout the many rooms.
Saturday night I'm back at Firefly after going OT last weekend. I have a feeling it will be pretty slow this Saturday (not many people go home for the holidays TO SoHo), so feel free to come by whenever you want (I doubt there will be a line), and I will play any requests you have.
New Year's Eve is really going to be special (see attached flyer). They're having the second annual Masquerade Ball at Huckleberry Bar. and I'm DJing it again I can honestly say I got at least 7 requests to play at different spots in NY for this New Year's (all very generous), but I had such a great time at Huckleberry last year I wanted to recreate the magic again. Champagne Toast at midnight and other goodies... Don't miss it!!!

Here's a literal re-singing of my favorite video of all time- It's funny and only a little corny. They say exactly what's going on, like "there go those two guys," "now there's one guy...."
Here is a special track. Biggie wrote the majority of Hardcore, Lil Kim's first album, and this is a reference track he had recorded for her for the track "Queen Bitch." I have had this for a few years but my version sounded like shit and had like 3 drops on it (Thanks to Casi G for posting this rip). It's especially funny to hear him rap the parts that only a girl would say. And it's incredible that he wrote lines that so many girls will yell out in the club to this day.
Here are some edits from some of my favorite songs from one of my favorite albums. I hope you enjoy and if anyone knows off the top of their heads the drum breaks (or any other samples) used in the following songs, let me know and I'll make some more edits: "Rap De Rap Show," "Oodles of Os," "Fanatic of the B Word (Cmon Everybody Let's Baseball)."
