THIGHS HIGH w/ SCOTT MELKER SATURDAY - FREE MAKERS MARK

This Saturday the last edition of Thigh's High is going down. We've had three great parties so far with three great DJs and who better to end the summer than DJ Scott Melker. Scott has done it all: DJ'd for artists at giant stadiums worldwide, done all the big clubs and put out some great mixtapes too. Expect nothing less than the best from this guy.

Thighs High is an outdoor/indoor party at Huckleberry Bar in Williamsburg with DJs, gourmet food and the fabulous cocktails the bar is famous for. It starts this Saturday at 4 o clock sharp. There is a large patio with plenty of room to get your sun on, and plenty of room inside in case the sun is off that day. The food will be prepared by guest chef Myles Atherton.

* There is a Makers Mark open bar at 4 with free Makers Mark cocktails. This is first come first served so come early if you wish to partake.

* The homie Devin will be celebrating his birthday at Thighs High. Come out and wish him a Happy Birthday.

In other news Humpin Around (my weekly Wednesday party at Huckleberry Bar) will start at 9 PM from now on.

I'll be at Firefly in Soho Saturday night after the BBQ as usual playing top 40, club & hip hop.

Sittin' Home

Here's another amazon purchase. The pick on here is Total's "Sittin' Home" Remix ft Shyne and it's instrumental. It's a Puff Daddy style remix so they jacked the melody from the Diseases Riddim and Prestige from the Hitmen made the beat. The beat is actually nice as hell. And Total was a great group.

Check the scans I did of the CD single. Remember buying those? Would anyone pay $8.99 for that today?

Around this time Shyne was hot shit, mostly because people thought he sounded like Biggie. I never thought he did that much and he was definitely blown out of the water by Gorilla Black from Cali who sounds much more like Biggie.

SAIL AWAY RIDDIM

This is one of my favorite riddim from the late 90's.

I only had one or two of the songs from it and in very low bitrate. I looked around the internet and couldn't find it anywhere to buy. So I searched in amazon, not in the mp3 section (it wasn't there) but in the CD section. There it was used for .99 cents. I often buy stuff like this from amazon. They hook you up independent sellers and the prices are often very cheap. The only catch is the shipping is always $3.99 and you get a separate shipping charge from each seller. In this case it was still a great deal because 5 bucks and one week later the CD came and it was brand new & sealed. Awesome.

The best songs are in videos below and theres a link below to download the whole zipped up thing. I had never hear a few songs on the riddim before I got the CD, most notably "Wise Up" by Copper Cat, which is pretty weird and good. Check out the video below.
